This was a fun page to do. The fog is thinning, and the moon is coming out. The light of the fire doesn’t so much reach behind the wagon, making the moonlight the primary light source and as such fairly strong by comparison to, you know, nothing. I experimented a bit with this, thus (see: Hiaté’s silk dress reflecting the light), and rather enjoyed myself with it.
So all the new folks will be wondering “Who’s her grandpa?” And that is still the point. :b This scene is in the original, and while the art has been revised, the dialogue itself remains largely unchanged. It’s rather a key moment.
