The Green and Endless Hills was once a golf course. Part of what I set out to do in Redux was to set the scale of the world better – the original left people thinking that the rodents were human-sized, an idea that the later pages did little to offset, and I wanted to address that.
As for the golf bag that’s been abandoned for over a century, I like thinking someone has made a home of it, possibly started a small hotel, and maintains it as their shelter. As for the tees and flags, at least you know it’s a golf course.
Don’t need to explain the balls, though. Those things last forever. :/
